"A year ago we bought our first ever dog. We noticed that cleaning up after the dog with conventional plastic poo bags was not going to help the plastic pollution problem. We decided to buy biodegradable bags which are readily available from many supermarkets and pet stores. But, after further reading, we found that these biodegradable bags can take decades to degrade and into tiny micro-plastics. These micro-plastics are also making their way to our oceans and harming our beloved marine life.
As a result of this, last year we decided to find a more eco-friendly alternative to this, so we designed a compostable poo bag which is made from cornstarch. This means that the bag degrades within weeks into natural elements which aren’t harmful to the environment. We have also made every effort to make everything about our product eco-friendly including the packaging.
About 8 million metric tons of plastic are thrown into the ocean annually. Of those 236,000 tons are microplastics.
Every minute a truck load of plastic is dumped into the ocean and this is set to increase by 10 times in the next two years. By 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean."
